Learning Objectives:

Apprentices will learn skills unique to the liquid chiller process, as well as general manufacturing skills sought after by local employers.  A blend of hands-on work and classroom education, Filtrine’s apprenticeship is a competency-based training program focused on three areas of manufacturing: Plumbing, Refrigeration and Electrical Work.

  • Plumbing:
    Learn to solder, braze, bend piping, and read plumbing diagrams. Learn the components and tools used to map and construct the plumbing of a liquid chiller.
  • Refrigeration:
    Learn to solder, braze, bend piping, and read refrigeration diagrams. Learn about refrigerant and the components used in the refrigeration process.
  • Electrical:
    Learn to read electrical diagrams, to wire electrical components, and to troubleshoot electrical problems.

Prerequisites:

18 years or older

Length of Apprenticeship:

Competency-based (estimated 1-2 years)

Outcomes:

Develop essential skills in a real-world setting, paving the way for a rewarding manufacturing career. Master plumbing, refrigeration, and electrical competencies with hands-on training.
