Today, Filtrine Manufacturing Company joins other businesses to celebrate “National Hire a Veteran Day”. A Marine veteran and founder of “Hire Our Heroes”, Dan Caporale, created the day in 2017 to be on July 25 to encourage businesses to hire veterans.
In January of 2022, Filtrine applied to become a DOD Skillbridge Organization to invite active service members, after leaving the service, to look into open jobs at Filtrine. The application was approved and Filtrine is now listed on the DOD Skillbridge website. “We have different internships available for military veterans and are willing to train the right people”, says John Parrott, Filtrine Production Manager and a veteran himself.
Filtrine is military friendly. “We have a long history of hiring veterans”, says Turner Hansel, President of Filtrine. There are military veterans in Filtrine’s front office working in service, engineering and data analysis. In the production department, military veterans work in a variety of departments such as plumbing, refrigeration, painting, welding, and more. They represent almost all of the services including Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, National Guard and the Navy.
If you are still in active service and want to learn more about DOD Skillbridge and how they can help you begin your career outside of the military, visit their website. Or you can view the Filtrine Careers page and contact HR directly to learn more about the jobs available, and fill out a job application.
All veterans are welcome to apply whether you are still serving or if you are a veteran exploring a new career path.
